■ 미국까지 가서 한국에서 부정선거가 있었다고 주장하는, 실체를 알 수 없는 속칭 ‘한국보수주의연합(KCPAC)’을 규탄합니다.

Statement by the Spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea on KCPAC’ s Allegations of Electoral Fraud

The Democratic Party of Korea strongly condemns the recent actions of KCPAC in the United States, where it has engaged in spreading unsubstantiated allegations of electoral fraud in South Korea during its participation in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).  Such anti-Korean activities constitute a direct challenge to the ironclad alliance between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United States, a serious insult to the people of South Korea, and a deliberate attempt to undermine our national interests.

KCPAC's false claims regarding South Korea’s electoral integrity are not only unfounded but also a direct affront to our internationally-respected election system, which is renowned for its transparency and efficiency.  Such actions represent a serious betrayal of the Republic of Korea's national interests, as they deliberately seek to erode trust in the Republic of Korea’s democratic institutions for politically motivated gains.  Additionally, the unfounded allegations of interference by China amount to little more than a deceptive political strategy aimed at distorting public perception.

Moreover, such reckless actions pose a serious security threat to the Korean Peninsula.  By falsely portraying South Korea’s democratic processes as compromised, KCPAC is deliberately undermining the stability of our nation at a critical juncture, as the Constitutional Court moves to finalize the impeachment process, and considering the broader regional security context.

It is evident that these activities are driven by a desperate attempt to gain political leverage rather than any genuine concern for democracy.  This is in stark contrast to the international recognition of South Korea’s vibrant democratic system. The impeachment process represents the strength and resilience of our democratic institutions, contrary to the misleading narratives pushed by KCPAC.

The Democratic Party of Korea urges all responsible political leaders and organizations to reject these baseless and harmful assertions.  We call upon the South Korean government to take decisive action against individuals and groups that engage in the deliberate dissemination of misinformation to harm our national interests. 

Our alliance with the United States remains robust, built on shared democratic values and mutual respect.  We urge responsible leaders and organizations, both in South Korea and abroad, to refrain from exploiting such allegations for political gain.  Misinformation should have no place in our discourse.

The Democratic Party of Korea will continue to safeguard the pillars of our democracy, uphold our constitutional processes, and resist any attempts to mislead the public for partisan advantage. We stand by the strength of our institutions and trust in the collective wisdom of the Korean people.

더불어민주당은 미국 보수정치행동회의(CPAC)에서 속칭 ‘한국보수주의연합(KCPAC)'이 대한민국의 선거 부정 의혹을 제기하는 근거 없는 주장을 펼친 행위를 강력히 규탄합니다. 이러한 반국가적 행위는 굳건한 한미동맹을 직접적으로 훼손하는 행위이며, 대한민국 국민에 대한 심각한 모욕이자 국가의 이익을 의도적으로 저해하려는 시도입니다.

KCPAC의 허위 주장은 사실적 근거가 전혀 없는 왜곡된 주장이며, 국제적으로 투명성과 효율성을 인정받은 대한민국의 선거 시스템을 부정하는 중대한 도발입니다. 이러한 행위는 정치적 목적을 위해 대한민국의 민주적 제도에 대한 신뢰를 의도적으로 훼손하려는 것으로, 국가 이익에 대한 심각한 배신 행위로 간주될 수 있습니다. 또한, 중국 개입설과 같은 터무니없는 주장은 실체 없는 정치적 선동에 불과하며, 국민 여론을 왜곡하려는 악의적 전략일 뿐입니다.

뿐만 아니라, 이러한 무책임한 행위는 한반도 안보에도 심각한 위협이 됩니다. 대한민국의 민주적 절차가 훼손되었다는 허위 프레임을 조장하고, 국내외 극단적 정치 세력과 연계하는 행태는 헌법재판소의 탄핵 절차가 마무리되는 중요한 시점에서 대한민국의 안정을 의도적으로 저해하려는 시도이며, 나아가 지역 안보의 관점에서도 위험한 도발이라 할 수 있습니다.

이러한 행위는 대한민국의 민주주의를 걱정하는 것이 아니라, 정치적 이득을 노린 절박한 책략임이 명확합니다. 이는 대한민국의 민주주의가 국제사회에서 높이 평가받고 있는 현실과 정면으로 배치됩니다. 탄핵 절차는 대한민국 민주주의의 강력한 제도적 회복력을 보여주는 과정이며, 이를 악의적으로 왜곡하려는 KCPAC의 주장과는 본질적으로 다릅니다.

더불어민주당은 정치인들과 관련 기관이 이러한 근거 없는 주장을 단호히 배격할 것을 촉구합니다. 또한, 현 정부가 국가 이익을 해치는 허위 정보 유포 세력에 대해 단호한 조치를 취할 것을 강력히 요구합니다.

우리의 한미동맹은 공유된 민주적 가치와 상호 존중을 바탕으로 여전히 굳건합니다. 더불어민주당은 대한민국과 국제 사회의 책임 있는 지도자들과 단체들이 이러한 주장을 정치적 이득을 위해 악용하지 않을 것을 촉구합니다. 허위 정보는 공론장에서 어떠한 자리도 가져서는 안 됩니다.

더불어민주당은 대한민국 민주주의의 근간을 굳건히 지키고, 헌법 절차를 수호하며, 정치적 목적을 위한 허위 정보로 국민을 현혹하려는 모든 시도에 단호히 맞설 것입니다. 우리는 대한민국의 강한 민주적 제도와 국민의 집단 지성을 믿습니다.
